10 Cute Spring Outfits Inspired By Serena Van Der Woodsen Of Gossip Girl
Let’s be real, guys: the best thing about Gossip Girl was the fashion. After the second season, the plot got so ridiculous it was impossible to keep up with, and almost everyone lost interest. I loyally watched the entire series, though, mainly because I was hate-watching, but also because I loved looking at the clothes.
All of the characters had their own very specific style, but one who we couldn’t take our eyes off of was Serena Van Der Woodsen. If I had two words to describe Serena’s style, they would be short and tight. I’m not judging her (Blake Lively pulls it off well!), I’m just saying – her outfits were usually short and tight. But that doesn’t mean her clothes weren’t beautiful, and it definitely doesn’t mean I didn’t fall in love with some of her outfits.
For our first roundup of spring outfits, who better to dress like than Serena? These outfits will keep you warm on the chillier days, but not so warm that you’re suffocating. Here are 10 cute spring outfits inspired by Serena Van Der Woodsen. Enjoy!
For those spring days when it’s cold in the morning and warm in the afternoon, this is perfect. Just take the jacket off and keep the scarf on if you want. Super casual! The best way to mix patterns is to use similar colors. Stripes and floral works here, and the bright blazer really pulls the look together. In the first season, Serena’s look is preppy with an edge. This plaid skater skirt is so cute with a plain tee and simple vest. The metallic bag is a fun touch. The very first time we meet Serena, she’s super covered up and casual, yet effortlessly chic. Channel that look with stripes, pointy flats, and the perfect tan leather jacket. This look is sophisticated, yet sexy, because of the low neckline. The blazer keeps it looking fresh. If it’s too warm, just change the boots for flats. This soft romantic look is one of my favorites. A longer, floaty skirt is so pretty with a lace tank, and a faux fur vest works for spring in soft colors. This is perfect for the first really warm day of the season. Matching an orange floral skirt with a light mint top is unexpected and fun. This casual look is made super chic thanks to the heeled ankle booties. A long necklace keeps it from being too boring. Make a tight sequin skirt work for the daytime by pairing it with casual pieces, like a slouchy tee and an unbuttoned chambray shirt. You’ll definitely get some stares wearing these bright pants and sparkly blazer, but for good reason: this look is bold and awesome.
Which of these outfits is your favorite? Which Gossip Girl character is your favorite? Who do you want to see outfits inspired by? Tell me in the comments.
